Alright cricket fans – time to be honest. It’s fun to see established stars, but nothing is more satisfying than seeing a young, unheralded player go completely off the rails and leave legends dumbfounded.
Think back: Hardik Pandya’s quickfire 20? Rinku Singh smashing 5 sixes as though it was gully cricket? Mayank Yadav making grown batters look like school kids with 150+ rockets?
This is about the new faces. The difference makers. The future GOATs.
Let’s check out the Emerging Players to Watch in IPL 2025.
1. Mayank Yadav (LSG – Fast Bowler)
Let’s just say he doesn’t bowl – he throws missiles.
In this season already, Mayank’s consistently gone above 150 km/h and sent stumps crashing, and batters walking back to the dugout. If you blink, you will miss the ball. Literally.
He’s already had commentators gasp mid-sentence – and fans? Well, we just scream.
2. Sameer Rizvi (CSK – Batter)
CSK does not just pick players. They produce legends.
Sameer Rizvi – the ‘right-handed Raina’ – is reckless. He plays spin like it’s piano music and face like he is playing video games.
3. Tilak Varma (MI – Batter)
Yeah, yeah, not technically “new,” but he is still emerging power.
Tilak has the composure of a veteran, his wrist work? Delicous. His shot selection? Chefs kiss.
This year he has moved up the order. More balls = more mayhem for the bowlers.
4. Naman Dhir (MI – All-rounder)
Naman Dhir has that classic “who is this guy and why can’t we get him out” feel.
Waltzes in, and just spanks sixes to all parts with no fear. You can see MI scouts smiling in the dugout like they just opened a Christmas present.
Bowls handy medium pace to boot. Basically – fantasy team gold.
5. Nitish Kumar Reddy (SRH – All-rounder)
This guy is a real utility juggernaut. Bowling stingy overs. Smacking 30 from 10 when it is required. The sort of guy you would have in your 5-a-side cricket team (and for real IPL teams as well).
SRH fans are already chanting “Reddy Ready!” after every match.
Big match temperament + cool head = watch out.
6. Abhishek Sharma (SRH – Opener)
No new news, but wow… this guy’s licking the flames in 2025.
He’s gone from coming through as a “promising young player” to PowerPlay maniac. Think: Sehwag, but with footwork.
That 80 off 35 against KKR? Just stay there, rent-free in our heads.
Let’s get real
Every IPL season, though, you’re like “who even is this kid?” to
“Bro, go pick him in fantasy — I SWEAR he hits 50+ today.”
Next up you’re yelling their name like they are your cousin just SAS cracked UPSC.
You’re allowed to be emotional about this stuff!
There’s something so special about watching young players develop. It’s like you’re their big bro, here in spirit, rooting for them on the couch.
They remind us why we love the game:
- the surprises
- the love
- the underdog moments that hit you right in the feels
If Emerging Players were people in your friendship group:
- Mayank Yadav = the gym guy who looks defeated but lifts twice the weight
- Rizvi = the stylish one who has swag, and wears the best shoes with the best comebacks
- Tilak = the silent topper who just wins
- Naman = the underrated one, but walks into a room like he owns it, and does.
Who’s Your Bet?
- Who your value breakout player in IPL 2025?
- Have you picked any of these guys in your fantasy team?
- You think one of them will be a next star for India?
Let us know in the comments, or even better – tag your cricket group and start a debate.
Because, nothing brings us together like cricket and arguing about “who is better.”
